Misty Village!

The Riddle of Misty Village is a fun little imaginary game project that I got to work on this Spring! I never thought it could be much fun designing the look and feel of a game.

And here's a mock screencap:

I want to give a shoutout to Chris Carman for offering a ton of useful feedback and Ryan Prothero the all the hard work he put into the coding/scripting/crazymathstuff. You guys are awesome! :D

Year End/New Year Giveaway!

This event has ended. Everyone who sent in their entry by December 21, provided that the entries were complete with all the information required, will receive a personalized copy of the calendar in the mail.

It's time for me to give something back to the people who like my work and also to those have been so supportive of me. So here's a small giveaway event. I had designed a tiny calendar and it's my sincere wish to mail one out to everyone, but I only have enough material to print 100 copies before the new year comes.

Event details:

Oh, and here's the aforementioned calendar that may or may not be worth your trouble. :D

Again, I'm really sorry that my budget only allows for mailing to US addresses right now. I'll try to include everyone else the next time!

*Giveaway event ends once 100 responses are received or on December 21, 2013, whichever occurs first.

College-Ruled Universe

My crazy, talented friend, Leo Dasso is making a totally bad-ass game with its graphics drawn entirely with ballpoint pen on college-ruled paper. The game is a side-scrolling space-ship shooter that will be playable on Android systems, as well on PC and Mac. (Beta release date: July 2012) College-Ruled Universe has a Kickstarter page and it needs enough support to become real, so if you think it's a cool idea that needs to happen please help out!

Some delicious gifs as samples of what the game might look like:

For those who aren't familiar with how Kickstarter works, it's like this: You may pledge any amount of money to help back the project with a total goal of $6000. If this goal is achieved by April 7th, you get the rewards listed on the page (eg. the game, artbook, soundtrack, original artwork... etc.), the game becomes a reality, and love will continue to make the world go round. If the goal isn't reached, well, you get to keep your money but there will be no rewards, the world will be a less awesome place, and the game won't happen for a while. ):

Entropy is out!

Here's my contribution to the Entropy Art Project.

Harmony's Tune

Entropy is a beautiful classically animated and self-funded short film made by two really awesome people, Dane Jacobs and my good friend, Jeremy Hay. Voice/Vocals by Megan McKenzie.

Watch the film in full on YouTube: [link] (Running time: 3:45 min)
Buy the Entropy Pack here: [link] (4.00 USD)

The Entropy Pack includes the HD movie file, a 4-minute documentary on the making, pieces of art and wallpapers (resolutions up to 1920X1200) by 11 different artists and a remix of the music (which I adoreeee) from the film. The pack costs just $4, and in my honest opinion the beautiful music in the pack (Moon Melodies) is worth paying for on its own.

WIPs:

Tools:
Photoshop CS3, Wacom Graphire4

Some peekchures from Fanime:

I was at Fanime 2 weeks ago and it was awesome! I saw quite a few people I know on deviantART and somehow managed to summon all my (non-existent) social skills to go up and say hi to them and then shove some of my prints into their faces. I did the same to a few well-known artists who were there like Elda The, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, Jeff Thomas (azuzephre) and Wen-M. *feels accomplished* 8D

Book Titles and Love Handles.

I've got some peekchures from LiVon's birthday outing! (I just realized that I've never posted a single photograph on this blog.) Thanks to my cam-whore gal-pals, we took a couple of nice ones that day. :D

LiVon: I shall kiss teh ball.
Ciaee: Any ball I see, I grab.
Weng Yee: Aaaahhhn...

We landed on Borders somehow. I suggested that each one of us go around hunting for books (titles) that reflect our personalities. And so we did.

Weng Yee looks utterly ridiculous, as usual.

Ciaee: I are taller den j00.
Livon: And my b00bs are bigger.

The book title is pretty self-explanatory. Weng Yee, on the other hand... has been in the Tourism and Hospitality business for a little too long.

It was a fun, fun day. We bought a skimpy dress for LiVon and they gave me a can of sweet condensed milk (susu krimer pekat) as my belated birthday gift. Yar. I love my crazy girlfriends. And here's a recent artwork:-

Love Handles.

(I've got to get rid of my love handles.)

Love Handles (definition from Wikipedia):
Love handles, in colloquial or slang speech, are a layer of fat that is deposited around a person's midsection. They are called "love handles" because they can serve as places to hold on while copulating. Love handles are also colloquially called a spare tire.

So many people want to be thinner and thinner and thinner these days; it's insane.

As always, a gif to show you my painting process.

Anyone going to Comic Fiesta? I'm going! :D
